Andrea discovered oil painting after going through a personal crisis eleven years ago. In an effort to heal, she began painting any subject that emotionally moved her. She now primarily paints plein air and larger studio works. She enjoys exploring with color and texture through brush and palette knife on canvas. "I love painting outside. You feel and see everything. It’s thrilling to capture a fleeting moment in nature that is unique and never to be seen again."
Andrea has studied art at Pepperdine University, University of California, Los Angeles, the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and Brentwood Art Center. She has also worked with plein air artists, Randall Sexton, Saim Caglayan and Calvin Liang, as well as a number of other artists/teachers.
She is an active member of the Oil Painters of America, California Art Club, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and the Allied Artists of Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore. She paints all over, and lives in Laguna Beach.
