California oil and pastel plein air painter, Jacquelyn Blue, has a special affinity with the more aqueous side of Mother Nature. "I believe every plein air artist has an ongoing love affair with the ocean. My home and studio are in Malibu and I am immersed daily in the salt air and the sound of the surf. The warm sun on the rocks, the splashing surf, the serenity of the lagoons and the dazzling light on the water beneath ever changing cloud formations are just some of the cherished elements I challenge myself to share."
Jacquelyn graduated with honors from California State University with a degree in Art History. She is presently in a mentoring program with California Art Club signature member, Lynn Gertenbach, and has completed workshops with Kim Lordier, Richard McKinley, John Budicin, Kenn Backhaus, and Debra Huse.
She is an active member of Oil Painters of America, the Pastel Society of the Gold Coast (signature member), the Pastel Society of the West Coast, Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains, the Pastel Society of America and the California Art Club.
She has had her work shown at The Triton Museum, Museum of Los Gatos, The Happening Gallery, The Seaside Gallery, the Hamilton Gallery, the Topanga Gallery and has won numerous awards through her art affiliations.
